Summer Nail Picks! (...Where Is Summer?)

I felt like a bit of a prat walking around with a different colour on each fingernail.
It had been a (one and only so far) beautiful sunny day and I foolishly thought that might mean the start of summer.
Little did I care to remember Summer in the UK Equals Rain.
I know, I know- it's a well known formula, I should have known better.
So yes, walking around in the rain with fingernails that look like a circus is F.U.N
But now, I...oddly can't get enough.
*Sigh* I'd do anything to stand out from the crowd.
I'll keep it short and sweet today, much like my nails :) *bask in own self-importance*

#REVIEW- Barry M Gelly in Blood Orange

OKAY. I know I find a new nail polish to swoon over every week- but this time I mean it.
This time, I'm on to a game-changer.
Batty M Gelly Hi-Shine nail polish in Blood Orange, £3.99

I think the reason I like this nail polish so much is because it came as a pleasant surprise.
I reviewed the same polish in Grapefruit (I think on my old blog) and although it's nice, I didn't feel it lived up to the hype.
But when I saw Blood Orange on the stand in Boots, I was really taken with the colour.
Pastels, nudes, pinks, blues- they all come and go. But reds? Give me a red, come rain or shine, and I'm a happy, nail-polish-wearing bunny.
This is a real, true, classic red shade. But the shine and the longevity are the things that set it apart from other drugstore polishes.
And every polish addict who travels a bit knows what a pain it can be to lug around base, colour and top coat in your bag.
This cuts the process in half.
I've worn it from Thursday through to Monday without drama or fuss.
And the shine- oh, the shine!
Put simply, it's one of those 'can't stop staring at my nails' finds. And today's #Resolution is never to settle for anything less.

 I've long been a fan on Barry M nail polishes. If I can, I'll collect them all! (...I'm probably not far off...) 

The trouble of course, when it comes to nail polishes, is that in the shop, the colour looks impossible pretty. Shining under that clever Boots lighting system. Who wouldn't rock this lime green?! you ask yourself, almost hypnotised.

But then it comes to every day life. And let's face it, in every day life, none of us are Beyonce.

Every time you go to your nail polish drawer you end up coming out with the same old Essie Ballet Slippers.

Resolution #Go crazy for coral

Hands up if you've seen Scar-Jo on the front of Elle magazine this month? I have *obvs* and I think she looks smokin'.
But as well as giving me some serious envy, it's given me some serious style-spiration for all things coral.
And I'm loving this bright Colour Pout Lasting Lipstain from Collection in Flirt. 

This was a spur-of-the-moment lunchtime purchase on one of those bleak and depressing days, but one I'm so glad I made.

I'm loving bright lips for 2013 (the launch of the Maybelline Vivid Color lipsticks is in my diary) and I was on the look-out for a coral- but for £4.99 the staying power of this stuff is much better than I expected. And, unlike other stains I've had before, this isn't drying on the lips.
It's the perfect match for Barry M Nail Paint in Coral.

I'm teaming these with a subtle tan courtesy of St Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body Moisturiser to stop it from looking too harsh on my pale skin.
